That would be too weird, eating something that could taste me while I tasted it.

I'll have to scour the internet for recipes - it's a huge tongue, like the size of my forearm, so I'll hack it in three and try it three ways. I'll be sure to post about them here.Tracyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17268626403040745983noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30181477.post-5203544802179739382007-03-09T17:08:00.000-05:002007-03-09T17:08:00.000-05:002007-03-09T17:08:00.000-05:00OK, wicked. I'd think a crockpot would do a nice job on it.

I should warn you that after it's cooked, you'll probably want to skin the tongue before slicing it. Of course that could have already been done - the presence of taste buds on it will be pretty obvious if they haven't.

(I'm sitting here typing this as I eat my lunch, which includes two of those whole chicken legs I cooked in the crockpot yesterday... and just realized that I've eaten the thighs first! LOL!)Caliannahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00055882170095208056noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30181477.post-66250363129302218082007-03-08T23:50:00.000-05:002007-03-08T23:50:00.000-05:002007-03-08T23:50:00.000-05:00LOL...chicken thighs are addictive! I'm gearing up to tackle it.

Mother Nurture...I get them from Beretta Farms in Etobicoke and they're awesome!!! They do have "spices" listed, so contact them and ask, they'll tell you. www.berettaorganics.com. Healthy Butcher is another great source, esp. for bacon!!Tracyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17268626403040745983noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30181477.post-38800393714342950822007-03-08T20:59:00.000-05:002007-03-08T20:59:00.000-05:002007-03-08T20:59:00.000-05:00By the way... Any time I find them on sale, even if they're still attached to the drumstick, I buy at least one package of them, probably 2 or 3.

I had bought a multi package of the fresh thighs at Costco a few days ago, went out of town without cooking them first (at least I had the foresight to put them in the freezer), then when I was at the regular grocery store this morning, I spotted whole chicken legs on sale (which means they had THIGHS!!! [drool]), and immediately threw the biggest package they had in my cart. It wasn't until after I'd put that whole package of chicken in the crockpot that I finally remembered I'd just bought fresh thighs only a couple days earlier. And here's the kicker - when I was out of town, I'd bought a small package of thighs to cook in my motel room microwave for dinner!

Chiken thighs... I think I've developed a new addiction, to replace the carb addiction. ;)Caliannahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00055882170095208056noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30181477.post-58055258630398598892007-03-08T19:53:00.000-05:002007-03-08T19:53:00.000-05:002007-03-08T19:53:00.000-05:00Where do you get your org. nitrite-free hotdogs, g...Where do you get your org. nitrite-free hotdogs, gluten-free b-fast sausages and your organic belly bacon? Me wants! Do they have MSG or anything listed as just nameless 'spices' or 'modified anything'? I recall it being a bit... different.

I think it was the texture that seemed odd to me, very lean and muscular, but I do recall it being good with mustard on it. If you could get past that odd texture.Caliannahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00055882170095208056noreply@blogger.com
